Celebrating 110 years of Scouting with 1st Basingstoke Scouts

Who we are,

The Beaver Colony is the first and youngest section of the Group. Beaver Scouts are young people aged between 6 and 8 years.

The Cub Pack is the second section of the Group following on from Beavers. Cubs are young people aged between 8 and 10½ years.

The Scout Troop is the third section in the Group, above Beavers and Cubs. The Scout Section is for young people aged between 10½ and 14 years.

Where we are

We are just one small part of the 28 million people that make up the largest youth organisation in the World. Based at Trinity Methodist Church, Sarum Hill, Basingstoke, the group belongs to Basingstoke East Scout District.

What we do...

As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life.

We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, over 460,000 young people across the UK have the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed. We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Beavers, Cubs and Scouts become everything from Teachers and Social workers to Astronauts and Olympians.
